What Is ClearV?

ClearV by Sciton is a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser designed for selected visible and subsurface vascular concerns. It may be used for facial vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, and other appropriate vascular lesions after clinical assessment.

The handpiece includes illumination to help the provider visualize certain subsurface vessels and integrated cooling for comfort and skin protection.

How Vascular Laser Treatment Works

Laser energy is absorbed by blood within the targeted vessel and converted to heat. This controlled heating closes or damages the selected vessel so it can become less noticeable as the body clears it over time.

ClearV and BBL are not interchangeable. ClearV is a focused vascular laser, while BBL uses filtered broad-spectrum light and may be selected for more diffuse redness or combined pigment and vascular concerns.

Your Appointment and Recovery

Protective eyewear is used. The provider selects settings based on the vessel’s location, size, depth, and your skin. Brief warmth or a hot snapping sensation may occur.

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or darker and more visible vessels can occur before fading. The treatment area and vessel characteristics determine whether compression, exercise restrictions, or multiple sessions are recommended.

Candidacy and Safety

Not every red or purple mark is appropriate for cosmetic laser treatment. Pregnancy, active infection, recent tanning, medications, circulation concerns, clotting history, and the vessel’s nature must be reviewed. Leg veins may require medical evaluation when symptoms suggest underlying venous disease.
