What Is BBL HERO?

BBL HERO is an advanced BroadBand Light treatment used to improve visible sun damage, brown spots, redness, and uneven skin tone. It is not the same as a resurfacing laser: instead of removing the skin’s surface, it sends carefully selected wavelengths of light into targeted pigment and visible vessels.

How BroadBand Light Works

BBL delivers pulses of filtered light that are absorbed by specific targets in the skin. Brown pigment absorbs selected light energy, while visible vessels absorb wavelengths chosen for vascular concerns. The treated targets gradually darken, fade, or are cleared through the body’s natural processes.

BBL HERO Treatment Options

What to Expect

Before Treatment

Your provider will review medical history, medications, tanning and sun exposure, pigment history, and previous procedures. Avoiding unprotected sun exposure before and after treatment is important.

During Treatment

Protective eyewear is used. Patients commonly describe brief warmth or a snapping sensation with each pulse. Treatment time varies by area and protocol.

After Treatment

Temporary redness, warmth, or mild swelling may occur. Brown spots can appear darker before gradually flaking or fading. Visible vessels may temporarily look more pronounced. Follow the personalized aftercare plan and use diligent broad-spectrum sun protection.

Results, Candidacy, and Safety

Some changes may be visible after one session, while a series and maintenance may be recommended. Recent tanning, pregnancy, active infection, certain medications, and pigment conditions may affect candidacy.
